BIO I was born in Poland, but have lived in the United States for over four decades and call Houston, Texas my home. My interests in photography go back over 50 years to my first, all manual Russian-made 35 mm camera. Botanical still lives and the landscape of the American West are my favourite subjects. I have exhibited in a number of juried shows, this year alone 6 images were picked for various exhibitions. Currently retired from my job as a chemist, doing alternative photography full time.
ARTIST STATEMENT I started my photographic journey as a B&W photographer, eventually working with a 4x5 camera. Alternative photography was always my passion and I started making platinum prints over 3 decades ago, with enlarged negatives. I have mastered just about every alternative process, including: cyanotype, platinum, chrysotype, carbon transfer, albumen, salt prints and of course gum bichromate. Currently doing a lot of research in improving gum bichromate methods in search of producing luminous water color like prints. Also experimenting with merging hand painted backgrounds with photography to create painterly effects and unique style.
