ALternative stories
Sept 12 -Oct 24
opening reception saturday September 19 2-5pm
Ellie Young
Silvi Glattauer
Kim Sinclair
Danielle Edwards
Alternative Stories brings together the tactile, hand-crafted work of
Australian artists Ellie Young, Silvi Glattauer, Kim Sinclair, and
Danielle Edwards. As one half of a creative exchange between
Canadian and Australian photo-based artists and printmakers, this
exhibition showcases the intrinsic qualities and unique aesthetic of
alternative printmaking practices. The prints on view range from
layered narrative work to material-focused investigations of collective
memory, landscape and the environment. While grounded in
alternative processes using both film and hybrid digital-to-handmade
approaches, the work remains visually contemporary and
conceptually varied.
